The Waste to Energy Site in Portsmouth is one of many incinerator plants being constructed throughout the UK which convert household waste to energy which is put back into the National Grid. The Portsmouth plant provides enough energy for approximately 14,000 homes.
This 1.35 million pound contract was negotiated by Gable (UK) Ltd with the main contractor Geoffrey Osborne Ltd and were instrumental in providing design expertise working with Geoffrey Osborne Ltd design team and the client’s French architect. Being part of the design process in the planning stage enabled Gable (UK) Ltd to not only create the aesthetic details required by the architect but also ‘design’ out any potential problems prior to commencing works on site.
The finished product is one we are not only proud of but is now a landmark building on the Portsmouth landscape.
