Rainscreen System
A weathering system that has now become more and more prevalent in the United Kingdom after being used in Europe for some time. Gable have embraced the philosophy of the idea that Rainscreen systems offer a multiple line of defense against weather ingress and through the use of pressure equalisation, outside air pressure is the same as the air pressure of the vented air cavity. This therefore means no driving force or pressure for rain to penetrate the system.
With numerous materials many varied designs can be achieved, Windsor House with its dual tone finish is a fine example. Materials regularly installed by Gable within Rainscreen systems include aluminium composite materials, terracotta tiling, pressure laminated timber and stone to name a few. With the addition of extruded and perforated metals extremely ambitious designs can be achieved and at affordable budgets. Luton MSCP demonstrates the bold statements that are achievable using these systems. Rainscreen systems are suitable for new build projects and refurbishment where it is possible to drastically change the aesthetics of existing buildings to a modern facade.
